OUR HISTORY
Established in 2014, Vortex began with importing dry ice blasting machines from overseas. Over time, we recognised the need for machines that could handle Australia’s demanding conditions. Through continuous innovation and hands-on experience, we began customising equipment for enhanced performance, reliability, and adaptability.
Today, we proudly design and manufacture our own machines built to Australian standards, offering powerful, flexible, and dependable solutions for a wide range of applications across the country.

Traditional chemical cleaning and stripping can be costly and hazardous to employees and in some cases corrosive to the assets. Sandblasting is very messy with large amounts of waste produced. It can be too abrasive and to varying degrees damages the components and removes some of the surface itself every time it is blasted, until critical tolerances are breached. The component must then be removed from operation and scrapped or rebuilt. This is not efficient, is time consuming and costly.
Our aim is to deliver cost effective, time saving solutions that can be used on all substrates, no damage, without any additional clear up, resulting in less downtime and extended asset lifespan.
THE FOUNDER
Terry Collier is the Sole Director of Vortex, bringing over 30 years of experience in international business. His expertise has been critical in the development and refinement of dry ice blasting systems tailored to Australia’s environmental and operational requirements. Under Terry’s leadership, Vortex has grown into a trusted name for high-performance blasting solutions to many clients from many diverse industries inc. Defense, Mining/resources, Energy, Government, Engineering, manufacturing, marine, manufacturing etc.
